This training course for professionals, parents, and caregivers is hosted by Kelly Sidari, Sharlyn Keegan, SLP and Cortney Voorhees, OT will cover:
How to teach a music class using Music & Movement Approach (created by Kelly Sidari)
Therapeutic approach to music and body movements
Learn about utilizing sensory, language, and motor approaches with children
Hands-on strategies
Understand regulation, play skills, and social interactions
Approach can be utilized with children of all ages as a group music class, individual therapy session, or as part of your daily interactions with children!
Professional Training - Sensory Integration in Practice
This course is a 3-4 day course appropriate for professionals including OT, PT, SLPs, etc. This intensive, hands-on, evidence-based course will provide a background on sensory integrative theory and development across all ages. In-depth information will be provided on the background and neurology of sensory processing, emotional regulation, body awareness, and motor skills. Participants will be provided with assessment options and treatment strategies across five interdependent systems: motor, sensory, emotional-relational, communication and cognitive skills. The course will cover underlying developmental systems and their impact. This bottom-up approach will enhance a therapist’s skill level for interacting with children and families. The focus will be on tools to enhance participation by improving body awareness, postural stability/security, coordinative skill, and motor planning and building therapeutic relationships. Emphasis is placed on hands on work with demonstrations and lab practice.
