Cortney Voorhees, MS, OTR/L – Owner and Therapist (she/her)

Cortney has her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from Utica College, graduating with registration and licensure in Occupational Therapy in 2012. She was previously a clinical therapist at a hospital in the outpatient department. Cortney has expertise in Sensory Processing Disorder, studying and mentoring with Jeannetta Burpee. She has also completed The Intensive Mentorship Program through the STAR Institute. She is trained to utilize the Therapeutic Listening approach for those with sound based regulatory issues. She is also trained in the SOS approach to feeding to assess and treat children who are picky eaters, have poor oral motor skills, and limited diets. Cortney also teaches an advanced level continuing education course for providers and agencies. Click here for more information.

Jeannetta D. Burpee, M.Ed., OTR/L – Retired Consultant (she/her)

Ms. Burpee, received her B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University in 1971, her Masters in Educational Psychology from Temple University in 1974, has 49 years of clinical experience, mentored with Dr. Jean Ayres in the late 70’s through the 80’s, was invited to be one of Dr. Ayres original faculty teaching certification courses for the SCSIT (Southern California Sensory Integration Test) and the SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Test), and is presently considered a master level clinician. She is currently a retired consultant and not accepting patients at this time.

Eli, MS, OTR/L - Staff Therapist (he/they)

Eli graduated from the University at Buffalo in May 2013 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. They have extensive experience working with children in clinic, school, agency, and early intervention settings. Continuing education courses they have completed include MNRI Postural & Dynamic Reflex Pattern Integration, Eyesight to Insight, and Tension, Stress & Trauma Release (TRE) with Kids. In their free time, they enjoy playing and exploring outside with their 3 kids.

Alexandra, MS, CCC-SLP - Staff Therapist (she/her)

Alexandra graduated from Ithaca College in May 2015 with a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology. She is certified in New York State and with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Ms. Rogerson has experience working with children of all ages, most recently working as a clinical therapist in Early Intervention and with the preschools in Elmira, NY. She has interest in working with students with Autism and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. She joined the staff at Leaps & Bounds in 2017.

Natalie, PT, DPT - Staff Therapist (she/her)

Natalie graduated from D’Youville College with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2019, and joined the staff at Leaps and Bounds in 2020. Previously she has experience working in outpatient orthopedics, acute care, and pediatrics. In her free time, Natalie enjoys spending time with her 2 Australian Shepherds, Oakley and Nutmeg.

 

Belinda - Office Manager (she/her)

Belinda has been with our office since it opened in 2015. She is the friendly voice that you hear over the phone and the first person that you will meet coming into our office. Belinda is the backbone to the office and keeps things running smoothly. She enjoys going to the beach, reading, and spending time with her family when not at work.
